Chaucer moment #1:  Although this might seem weird to some of you, our dog sleeps with us…in the bed…under the covers.  Now before you think we are insane, consider the fact that we live in ND and we need a good foot warmer in the winter.  Anyways, it wasn’t long after he started sleeping in the bed that he became quite adept at figuring out where the edges of the bed are.  All but on rare occasions, he doesn’t usually fall off.  That being said, we do sometimes have the opportunity to hear the laugh inducing THUNK that is the dog hitting the floor.  The other night we were getting ready to go to sleep and Chaucer fell off the foot of the bed…and we didn’t hear anything.  We waited for a few seconds, just listening and then I went down to investigate.  Here was the dog, caught in the part of the sheets that you tuck into the foot of the bed when you make it.  He was just lounging around like he was in a hammock in the sun… Have I ever mentioned that our dog is lazy?

Chaucer moment #2: Now let me begin my saying that this is 100% completely and entirely my fault.  And don’t ask what possessed me to do such a thing because I have no idea.  Last week I came home from work and fed Chaucer his dinner and then went upstairs.  I heard him finish eating and when he was on his way upstairs I thought, “wouldn’t it be funny if I jumped out and scared him when he came into the bedroom?”  Riiight… Not one of my finest moments.  So I jumped out and scared him alright.  He yelped just a loud as could be and then peed all over the floor.  My poor dog. Do you think that can be considered animal abuse?  Don’t send animal patrol my way…I promise never to do it ever again…
